Bob,

Your Defamatory comments have been reported to Google. By way of
fairness and to allow you a fair chance to resolve this matter, my
complaint is as below. Please take careful note of the resolution
sought.

Quote of my complaint against you as filed with Google...

This post is clearly intended to acuse me of "spam" or other Group
abuse and clearly intended to be offensive.

My full and honest intention was and still is to join this group with
no intention of spamming or any other type of mis-use.

It is clear that the poster "Bob" intends for his comments to cause
disrepute and his addition of "Go suck an egg" unquote, is clearly
intended to be offensive.

Under the Defamation Act(s) (all states) of Australia the comments
posted by "Bob" are considered malice and or deliberate in nature and
therefore an offence under Law of Civil and or Criminal Defamation.

As a resolution, I request that "Bob" make a full and proper and
public apology.

If "Bob" refuses or fails to make such apology, then I request that
Google take what action it sees as appropriate to resolve this matter
of "Bob" violating the Terms and Conditions of Google Groups and the
Law of Australia.

Thank you.

Erm, BOB isn't using Google Groups, and he isn't in Australia. What exactly
do you think your reporting of him will do? You, however ARE using Google
Groups, so when we report you, maybe they'll can your account.

Thank you.

You're welcome! Spammer.

Looked rather like spam to me. To avoid future problems -- do not tout
your website in the first post you make to a newsgroup. Have it
discreetly noted in your signature file.

Thanks Dan,

Nice to see someone here that is not automatically rude and offensive.

I can assure you that my first post was not intended to be in the
manner it was received.

However, I do expect to receive an apology from those involved.

I note your comments on Google's legal obligations. I would suggest
that the fact that Google does have publication control over this
venue and does in fact have Terms of Service and does have a Reporting
Abuse section, that they are legally bound to act upon my complaint.
It can be noted that with in the Reporting Abuse section, Google
provide a area to report breaches of Law from "your" country. In other
words, every Law of every country that has access to this site must be
respected....because the complaints system has made account of it.

I am in Australia and under Australian Defamation Law, I can seek
whatever I feel is reasonable to resolve this matter. Google is
legally obliged to honour my reasonable request for resolution or face
legal action to enforce a resolution.

So far, I have made it clear to Google, that I will receive a full and
proper public apology OR I will seek and demand as resolution that
this site (chat room, news group, call it what you will) be closed!

I thank you again for the one and so far only friendly comments toward
me.

Regards
KTC

Presumably, by appealing to Usenet central control?

You really have no clue about usenet, do you. Google has nothing to do with
this newsgroup or usenet in general, other than providing a web-based access
into the usenet system. IOW, Google has no ability to shut down
rec.food.cooking.

You need to get a clue and quit making a fool of yourself. Or not.... you
are a hoot.

Google is not in charge of usenet, they only archive it.
