Default Mother's Day dinner and leftovers

It was a success.

Our son was able to come home for a few days last week but had to leave
on Saturday, so that left it to me to look after Mothers Day dinner for
my wife. This was one occasion where I was grateful for Sunday shopping.
On the way home from my early morning riding lesson I stopped off to
pick up some fresh croissants for breakfast and was thinking of buying
some nice big shrimp to do on the grill. When I got to the fish counter
there was a big display counter full of small "canning size)cooked
lobsters for a great price, so I bought a bunch of them.

I made up some some herbed butter with some fresh chives and melted
butter, split the lobsters lengthwise, brushed them with the butter
mixture and heated them up on the BBQ grill. They were delicious.

After dinner I tossed all the shells into a pot of water and simmered
them for a while. Next I sauteed some celery, carrot, red pepper and
onion in a butter until softened, added the strained lobster stock ,
seasoned it with salt, pepper and a bit of cayenne and simmered for a
another hour. Tonight I heated up some of the stock, added a good
splash of whipping cream and served it up with a sprinkle of chopped
chives. It may not be a real bisque, but it was delicious.
