Default Speaking of grocery prices ...

I see that the supermarket chains around here are offering a 10% bonus
if you spend part of your stimulus check there. Give them $300, get a $330
gift card. $1200, get $1320.

Is anyone planning to reduce their grocery bill that way? I know many
other types of stores are offering the same deal.

Ummmmm, what's a 'stimulus check'?

Opps, no worries, found it.......

I looked at 'stimulus check' and thought, someones got to check to see
if you're alive!! :-)

But the above deal sounds good. You get the free money, and they top it
up for you as well!!

Haha, you're right. Like a terribly personal exam.

Mine should be deposited over the weekend, I was considering dropping
$300 of it in that way for the extra 30 bucks. Maybe.

We got $600 each plus $760 for over paying taxes (WHAT? That never
happens). It's going into ING, but I'd rather buy a diamond....
however small. Hey. I'm worth it!

Not being a braggard like your mate Jilly McQueen who's all for
letting everyone know how effluent she is, I'll keep my financial
status private and personal.

It's not *free* money.

So, you have to do some community work to get it right?

Oh no, that's right....... you're getting it to stimulate the economy.
*Free* money...... even the non-tax payers are getting some!!

"On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate passed its version of a $168 billion
fiscal stimulus bill. The House of Representatives quickly approved
the new bill, and President Bush is expected to sign it ASAP. Checks
are practically in the mail: $600 for individuals, $1,200 for married
couples, or about half as much for those Americans who don't pay
income tax at all. It is the clear intention of Congress and the White
House that all patriotic Americans promptly cash those checks and
spend 'em, thus boosting aggregate demand in the economy, and warding
off the oncoming recession."

Now.......... back in your hole!!

nancy,

I only got a $2.00 Fed refund. That'll buy us half a cheesesteak. Maybe go
overboard and add bell peppers and mushrooms?

Cross the river and I'll tour you around the Italian market in south
Philly! I'll gladly spend $2.00 on us! I know my way around, when I'm not
lost and found.

Best,

How would they know you were spending it there?

The entire point of "stimulus checks" is to get you to spend. DON'T.
Invest the money and let the economy stabilize. Don't run out and buy a
car, fer cryin out loud!
