Funny how things happen. I have two adopted brothers, neither of which
we've heard nor seen anything of for the last thirty years... until last
weekend.

My sister found one of our brothers on Classmates.com. We've already
been in contact.

He called our mother today. She's over the moon and their planning a
reunion for the near future.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. At all.

Very powerful stuff. I know you're thinking about your mother.

You have to wonder. I'm bad about calling home, but 30 years?
I hope it's a good reunion.

No one has ever seen a photo of Nancy. Well, I did, but she was in shadow
wearing a long coat with her face turned away. She *could* be ET...

I guess I'm curious why it seemed you might be reticent about this meeting,
or somewhat reluctant or uncomfortable? Maybe I read it wrong.

Naw, she's too tall! Except in the movie on Halloween, wasn't ET on
someone's shoulders with a long coat?

Maybe it had something to do with when I said I'm not sure how I feel
about this. It's pretty clear that I'm a bit reluctant. They both just
fell of the face of the earth thirty years ago, for crying out loud.

Of course it's up to our mother to decide what to do now, but at the
time both she and dad were badly hurt by it. I'm sure my brother doesn't
know that they were disowned ages ago. While they were both still
around, their behavior was pretty harsh and they were none too kind to
mom and dad.
