I would have never thought to go to Walgreens! Thanks for the tip,

Their ads change on Sunday. If you find something on sale in the circular
and they,re out of it make sure you get a raincheck. They,ll give you
twice as many items allowed if you ask.The rainchecks are good
indefinitely.
Sometimes their spices are 3 for $1.00,,good in a pinchif you need more
of an item than allowed ,just go back again the next day or take hubby
with you.
They have a new dollar section where you can get dried fruits, cereals
etc,and house hold things.Check the endcaps too because thats where all
the markdown things are, usually in the back of the store.
I bought my hubby and * kids some tee shirts to hang around in 5 for
$10.Last year they had *shorts and tank tops 3 for $10 and they,ve held
up just as well as if I,d paid more somewhere else. They have them again
this year.
Oh,and they honor magazine coupons also...

I always thought of Walgreens as a drugstore. *I didn't know that they
carried all that stuff. *I really appreciate this. *Seriously, our Walgreens
is only about a 10 minute drive away and the grocery stores are about 20
minutes away. *This is awesome! *Thank you!

Their grocery stock can vary by the size of the store. Here in my
Chicawgo nabe there are about five stores in a four - block radius,
some are large and modern, a couple are older and cramped. The older
ones carry a fairly limited stock and one of them carries very few if
any cold items at all...the newer ones are very well - stocked.

Check your local paper for the ocassional Wag's ad, sometimes they
have coupons that can save you a LOT of money, e.g. this past holiday
season they had 16 oz. jars of their own - brand peanuts for 99 cents
(that's at least half - price; I use a lot of peanuts in my Asian
cooking, in fact I buy most all of my nuts there, their house brand is
pretty good), 8 oz. Hershey bars for the same price, etc....

As the previous poster mentioned, their dried fruit is a buck per box,
regular price. They sell larger packages of stuff, e.g. 6 - packs of
Hunt's tomato sauce for like two bucks, 8 - packs of ramen for a
buck....

It's also the cheapest place to buy Hellman's or Kraft mayo when on
sale, usually it's $1.99 per jar...

This week their Encore brand of spices are on sale twofer a buck, it's
not Penzey's but it's okay for my daily use. Spice - wise, I find
some really good deals at World Market, too...

I'm very enthusiastic about Walgreen's, they pare prices down to the
bone. And the one time I had a problem with getting rain checks I
complained on the Planet Feedback website, the DAY after I wrote the
complaint I got an apology email from Walgreen's, and when I thanked
them for their reply I got a call AND a letter from the store manager.
How's that for service? After that they spiffed up their customer
service, the store was better stocked...no more problems with rain
checks (at least for me).

So, hope you have a well - stocked Wag's near you...

:-)
