Heya all you southern Cal rfc'ers!!!

I have a new contract!!! I will be in the Torrance area for about 10
weeks or so... I will be starting my contract on March 2nd...and
probably moving into my apartment there about the Thursday before.

Want to get together and cook, dine, drink and generally rabble rouse
and be merry?

Kimberly (Nexis) and I are already talking about
cooking/eating/whatever marathons....

I am traveling with all sorts of kitchen equipment, and cookbooks and
so forth.

I will be heading (maybe even that first weekend) up to the Saturday
Santa Monica Farmers market...and probably to Surfas as well...

Don't have my apartment yet so I have no idea of where exactly I will
be staying. Not sure what the kitchen will be like.. My company
will be working on that tomorrow...

Anyway, I hope I can see you all!!

Christine

Come on down when I am there!!! Maybe we can have a mini-cook-in, or
some such shindig.

You haven't lived til you have been to a southern Cal cook-in!

If you like, try the Los Angeles Farmers Market at 3rd and Fairfax.
Probably the largest farmers market in Southern California.

No, the Santa Monica farmer's market has that distinction.

As I told you in email, my place is always available...ocean view,
nice deck, you bring the Limoncello... :-)

back of my van.....

And she does have a great condo!!!

Koko and I have already decided to plan a mini or otherwise cook-in.
My housesitter is thinking of coming over on her spring break, and we
were thinking of doing it sometime then. Meghan is a major foodie...

Just to let you know, Squeaks..

Yeah. But even then it didn't even begin to compare to some of the
farmers markets there today.

The Wednesday Santa Monica farmers market is my favorite. That market
seems to go on for miles!!

Christine, drooling for fresh fruits and vegetables from the farmers
market.

Maybe so but it is home to Maggiano's Little Italy, a restaurant I frequent
and love dearly. They do a Saturday family sit down that is just splendid
and you can stay all day long if you feel like it. Endless refills of all
their entrees and I have yet to not see a celebrity there. I'll agree the
Farmers market is a tourist trap, the next door Whole Foods gets way more
business. Still, you can get some really good stuff if you go early, like 6
am.

That's a chain restaurant, Paul..and you can find it a lot of places.
I bet there is more than one around the area.

I would rather go to one of the other farmers markets.

I wouldn't do early morning for all the food in the world.
