Thanks, I've copied this and sent it on to friends. Unfortunately, I
think it will be overcast tomorrow... rain.

Thanks Jill,
I read about it yesterday and promptly forgot. Weather so far looks good
for viewing here.

Totally forgot! Bummer.
Regarding the Moon Pies - do you mean these?

http://www.moonpie.com/

or these:

http://www.wickedwhoopies.com/

Either fine by me!

Neither. Moon cake http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mooncake. Personally I
find they're often a bit heavy but still not a bad snack.

I didn't. I went out every 15-20 minutes to check out the progress. It was a
full moon and we had a clear sky. The only problem was that it was extremely
cold, but later on I could see it through the front window.

DH & DS set up an old telescope with a digital camera to look at
it -- they got some decent pictures, but haven't uploaded them yet...

Oh, man... you're so lucky. The last full eclipse I saw was when my
kids were very small and I was in a camper at the Del Mar Fair. I
think it started around midnight. This one would have been fantastic
if it wasn't overcast. When I left work, I could see the moon through
a light cloud cover but when I got home the moon 15 minutes later, it
was totally obstructed by clouds. I couldn't even tell it was any
darker than normal.
