So I saw some cultured butter and bought some, but I realized when I got
home I wasn't wholly sure what I was going to do with it. My husband isgoing to expect me to justify this purchase with something terribly yummy. ;D I'll search google in a min, but I wondered what y'all do with YOUR cultured butter. ![]() -- Siobhan Perricone "Who would have thought that a bad Austrian artist who's obsessed with the human physical ideal could assemble such a rabid political following?" - www.theonion.com |

The next use is for enriching sauces. For frying and baking we mostly use unsalted sweet cream butter, as it's cheaper and the flavour ends up being buried somewhat anyway. |

For example, shortbread cookies, puff pastry, or croissants might be good places to start. Lemon curd--if you have a really good recipe--is also something that would bring out the flavour of the butter and lemon curd is excellent with shortbread :-). However, if your husband does not have a very sensitive palate, chances are he will not notice the difference between cultured butter and sweet cream. Personally, I would either make shortbread cookies or just use it straight. rona -- ***For e-mail, replace .com with .ca Sorry for the inconvenience!*** |

That's exactly what Alba (wife) told me. She does the daily shopping, I do the $pecalty $hopping. That way I can bitch about the price. And since she coupons and discount cards 25% + off the bill when Alba does buy something expensive I keep my mouth shut. I bitch and she may ban me from eating it. -- |
