Default cultured butter

So I saw some cultured butter and bought some, but I realized when I got
home I wasn't wholly sure what I was going to do with it. My husband is
going to expect me to justify this purchase with something terribly yummy.
;D

I'll search google in a min, but I wondered what y'all do with YOUR
cultured butter.

Ummm, use it as butter? Especially on good english muffins or other bread.

Spread on the best bread you can make or buy.

I like it, but it's waaaay to expensive.

We use it mostly for spreading on bread. The next use is for enriching
sauces.
For frying and baking we mostly use unsalted sweet cream butter, as it's
cheaper and the flavour ends up being buried somewhat anyway.

The day someone starts monitoring what I spend on groceries and makes me
justify the cost of the purchases is the day I turn that chore over to
someone else.

If you really want to make something with it, rather than use it straight as
a spread, it should be something where the flavour of butter really stands
out. For example, shortbread cookies, puff pastry, or croissants might be
good places to start. Lemon curd--if you have a really good recipe--is also
something that would bring out the flavour of the butter and lemon curd is
excellent with shortbread :-). However, if your husband does not have a
very sensitive palate, chances are he will not notice the difference between
cultured butter and sweet cream. Personally, I would either make shortbread
cookies or just use it straight.

That's exactly what Alba (wife) told me.

She does the daily shopping, I do the $pecalty $hopping. That way I can
bitch about the price. And since she coupons and discount cards 25% +
off the bill when Alba does buy something expensive I keep my mouth
shut. I bitch and she may ban me from eating it.

Take it to the opera or an art museum.
