My Games magazine arrived and there is an old photo on the
cover. I'm supposed to guess where the photo was taken, but that's neither here nor there. Here's what is says, I laughed out loud: TOBACCO The use of tobacco, in any form, is a dirty, filthy, disgusting, degrading habit. No gentleman will use tobacco in this city. You have no more right to pollute with tobacco smoke, the atmosphere which clean people have to breathe, than you have to spit in the water which they have to drink. CUT IT OUT, YOU FOOL. Before you reap smoker's cancer paralysis or one of the many other diseases caused by the use of the filthy, nasty, stinking stuff! nancy |

I hate trucks and battle them all the way to work in my car - which I DO need to get me to my work and also to these poorly planned errands. I do remind myself of the food and other stuff that's being delivered in those trucks - helps a little bit, but not a lot!! e. |

We have a pretty busy train track behind our place. I see a lot of semi trailers now hooked up to rail type wheels and being pulled like any other box car. Nobody knows how to waste money like the gubmint. I had a friend who prided himself on being apolitical. I'd always try to get him to vote, but the thing that did it was that he tried to buy a bottle of wine on a Sunday. Ashcroft had repeatedly vetoed the repeal of the Blue Laws, banning Sunday alcohol sales. When he was replaced by a Democratic governor (Mel Carnahan), my friend was soon able to buy wine on Sunday. Eventually, Mel Carnahan ran against Ashcroft for Ashcroft's Senate seat. Carnahan died a few weeks before the election, but his name remained on the ballot, and our state's new Democratic governor promised to appoint his wife to the seat if Mel won the race. Well, Ashcroft lost to a dead man, and one of those votes was my buddy's. Soon after, Bush made him Attorney General. Now, my friend always votes. Becca --Bryan |
