Default Omnivore's Dilemma

.... I was amused when I found out Price Club was not
named for their low prices but after the founder.

Same feeling when I joined BJ Wholesale...

BJ does have some nice condiments and other things under their name -- can't
think of the name at the moment, but something like "Bartles and James."

Default Omnivore's Dilemma

The first year I'd ever heard of Price Club (Costco) and had just
joined as recommended by a friend. We were invited to New Year's dinner
at this friend's house, and they announced that everything on the table
was from Costco.

I wonder why they did that? It's like me announcing that everything on
my table was from a particular supermarket. I can't think of any reason
my guests would need to know that.

Miche

And it all came from a box o' blue (Kraft Mac'n'Cheese). Cheese fondue
with
elbownian noodles.

CAUTION: EARLY MORNING SENSE OF HUMOR AT WORK.

Hi Miche!

My choice of words, "announced" was inappropriate. I should have said,
"they said lovingly" .... And since Price Club had been recommended to me by
them, and they were helping me to become a member, they were showing me what
was available there. In those days, one had to belong to this or that to
qualify. We joined a credit union to qualify. We still use that place for
our banking to this day and have never paid a cent for banking, nor had a
mistake on our statement -- incredible.

Indeed I still remember, New Years' Day, there was ham and turkey and a big
spread. They were a nice Mormon family and I was embarrased that I wanted
to smoke. Haven't smoked a day since then 1-1-89.

Sad to say that this man is not still living. He became a great friend.
