I guessed banana, and I still don't see how this isn't a valid
answer. Canned (implies cooked) or frozen bananas? Sorry. I
don't see it.

There's banana in the canned (cooked) tropical-fruit cocktail I buy,
in smoothies in the juice aisle of the store (processed), and I've
had deep-fried (cooked) bananas at Chinese restaurants.

Way back when there was a stand in the La Jolla, CA harbor area that
sold frozen bananas on a stick dipped in various condiments (chocolate
sauce, coconut, crushed peanuts, etc.). It was very popular.

You buy fresh dates? They don't look anything like the dried dates
I usually buy, so I have avoided them at the store so far.

Ooooh, good guess! Anyone know what the answer is, or are we just
peeing in the wind? Sorry, I'm still back on the current drift in
the "TJs or Andy goof?" thread...

Escarole is a type of lettuce and ends up cooked in things
like minestrone soup.

But yes, good guess.
