Good for us, Rosie!!!

My motive wasn't for health reasons, I decided I wasn't gonna pay
$4.00/pack. It would've been an $8.00 a day habit. I've saved thousands of
dollars and a boost in health as a side effect. Well, I did put on some
poundage at first, which I'll conveniently blame on r.f.c.

I can smell cigarette smoke 50 feet away and it smells noxious.

Congratulations, Andy. It is six years for me, I don't remember the date.

No smoker listens to ex-smokers, you know. They quit when ready, if
at all.

I miss my cigarettes. We had a lovely relationship, so nice in fact that
I still have a hard time believing they would ever actually WANT to
harm me. Problem is, the weight I put on after quitting (now nearly
gone) might have killed me to. In the war against obesity, quitting
smoking is not a positive thing. (Food tastes better, too, and even
if it did not, most would eat more due to the pacifier effect.)

Best things about quitting: not smelling gross and not knowing it,
no more nicotine fits, and the extra money you have.

Keep up the good work! If you're like me, you find it hard to believe
you ever smoked as much as you did. I was a two-packer.

Congratulations, Andy! Someone years ago used to use a "calculator"
as his sig line xxx days smoke free, xx days added to my life. I'm
sure it's still found somewhere on the internet and I bet you'd enjoy
seeing the totals add up.

I quit in 1983. Two reasons. I got tired of that elephant sitting on my
chest every morning. And the price of a carton of cigarettes had hit $5
and I thought it ws highway robbery.

I quit when I was pregnant with my daughter. I had smoked all the way
through with my boys but nobody had said at that time that it was harmful.

And another bonus for you is that you won't look old before your time.
Women get scary fugly when they smoke a lot. Smoking does a number on a
woman's face (because of the vasoconstriction on the minute blood
vessels) that should be a deterrent enough if they could see into the
future, eh?

I tried it. Minutes added to life, money, etc. Interesting for a while.

Three years this september for me too. Cannot remember the date. I'd quit
for seven years; got sick and decided if I was going to die anyway, I would
start smoking again.

Stupid!!

It's a lot easier to quit today than it was several years back. I 'll never
smoke again. e.
