Default OT: View of the Eclipse. Was Total Eclipse of the Moon (8-28-2007)

This morning's view of the eclipse...

I was at the park at 5:30 am.

It was foggy but a clear sky.

Sadly the moon was very low on the horizon and was ready to set behind a
row of trees at the opposite end of the park.

I got some pictures of the partial eclipse. By the time it went into
totality it was just setting behind the trees. I did get a picture of
totality but thanks to the fog and autofocus, all my pictures were grainy
and worthless. Rats!

Oh well. I'll try again on Feb. 21, 2008 and find a better viewing
location.

How was your view?

Good initially. Got to see full eclipse, but then the clouds moved in so
I have no view now.

Exquisite! I was in bed reading and would get up every half hour or
so and go out on my porch and look at the moon through my 10x50
Steiners. Viewing conditions were idial and I followed it through all
its orange to brown color stages before I finished my book and finally
called it a night at 3:45 PDST.

It was a little cloudy, here, plus I have too many trees.

I took a few pictures this morning as the shadow of the earth crossed the
moon:

At about 03:15 PST, the shadow of the earth completely covered the moon.
It was a faint orange color in the sky.
