It depends on what kind of rotisserie you have . If you have the Farbeware rotisserie it's difficult to do two chickens end to end. There's not enought heat at the ends. Kent |

THanks, Roger if you buy a rotisserie, it will have a booklet with suggested times. my farberware 'open hearth' says 1.5-2.5 hours for a 3-5 lb. chicken, with chicken starting at room temp. i have the smaller unit, so two birds would not fit at one time. your pal, blake My george foreman bird spinner takes about 70 minutes per 3 lb bird. Since I can only eat about half of one bird at a time I've never attempted to cook 2 at once. But I assume that 2 bird would take approx the same time if cooked at the same time...But isn't this the reason meat thermometers whether mechanical or digital were invented 160F internally is the desired doneness. Several thin slices of lemon or orange or lime inserted under the skin in various locations wouldn't hurt either. -- The house of the burning beet-Alan It'll be a sunny day in August, when the Moon will shine that night- Elbonian Folklore |

It will give the BEST rotisserie chicken EVER. Moist and delicious. I marinate my chicken(s) in salt water for about 2 hours before roasting. Then I rub it (them) with a dry rub and roast for 1.5 hours. That is for oen or two chickens. The salt water for the marinate should not be too salty, just enough to be a bit on the salty side. Teh chicken(s) will absorb some of the salt water and the breast stays moist and not only the outside skin, also the inside of the chicken tasts great! I treat all of my chicken, whole or pieces that way before cooking, roasting etc. |
