Default Popsicles!

Here's a little known factoid:

http://inventors.about.com/library/i...blpopsicle.htm

In 1905, the Popsicle was invented by an eleven-year-old Frank Epperson.
Frank Epperson was only 11 years old when he invented the originally named
Epsicle. He had left his fruit flavored soda outside on the porch with a
stir stick in it. The drink froze to the stick and tasted good. It took 18
more years in 1923 for Epperson to apply for a patent for a "frozen ice on a
stick" called the Epsicle ice pop, which his children re-named the Popsicle.

It's currently 103 degrees outside. Would have been a pop-puddle if he'd
left it sitting out in this heat. Even the Good Humor Man isn't driving
around selling his wares. I bought some lemonade popsicles, very nice and
refreshing. My second favourite is grape followed by orange. How about
you? Or do you prefer ice cream?

Last month I was helping set up for a horse show and a woman came over
offering us all nice cold Popsicles. Luckily she had chocolate. It was
probably the first Popsicle I had had in about 30 years and I had to make a
note to myself to have them more often.

I eat ice cream on a regular basis, but every once in a while, the Popsicle
is a treat in the heat. I buy them by the box for our employees and pass
them out on hot days. My favorite is cherry, followed by orange, root beer,
grape.

I buy Italian Ice, lemon is my favorite. I used to get Edy's fruit
bars, too. Haven't had those in a while.

Chocolate Popsicle as opposed to a Fudgesicle? Never saw that here.

Last time for a popsicle for me was around 50 years ago; the same for a
Fudgesicle, although I thought they were tasty.

Same for a peanut butter sandwich. I could count on one hand how many I've
had, but I did have one in the last few years. I tried organic peanut
butter and lingonberry jelly -- but even though it was good enough, it is
not something I'll reach for when I'm hungry.

For something on that order, I like is Trader Joe's Cashew and Macadamian
nuts ground up. Has a good taste -- But I like it on toast, and NO jelly.

I like popsicles all right. Favorites a root beer, banana, and lime.
On the whole, I prefer ice cream.

BTW, I remember a rainbow popsicle but forget the flavors.

I prefer popsickles to ice cream.

A very simple way to make them if you have no molds is to fill an ice
cube tray with juice or whatever, cover it with cling wrap and stick one
toothpick thru the cling wrap into each cube, then freeze.

Plain Juice cubes are also great to add to any juice drinks to keep them
cold longer, and it won't dilute them out like water ice cubes will.

Crushed juice cubes are wonderful especially for frozen margaritas.
Cranberry or lemonade, or limeade.

OK, ya made me do it! I got a box of popsicles this morning. A combo box of
orange, grape and cherry. I'll have a lick-off later today.

These are the cheap-o kind with only one popsicle stick!

I'm afraid to say this because of all the interaction -- but I'll go
ahead --Nutella? Ewwwwehhh! PIU!

However, Trader Joe's does have something very similar which I've bought,
and it's good enough.

But shouldn't the recipe be very simple for some superb homemade type
Nutella? I've certainly got the ingredients on hand.
Chocolate and Hazelnuts, what could be better, but Nutella - NO!

Oops! lol
I love the stuff when the sweet tooth hits, but I only get it once or
twice per year.
I've lost my taste for peanut butter for the most part.

Home made will always be better than store bought as you can control the
proportions, and quality.
