Default Decisions, decisions, decisions

Do I check out the new Surly Table in town?
Do I make the Pickled Boiled Dirt Chunks?
Do I make the Bean Pickles?
The first would be the most fun.
The third doesn't require any more shopping.
The second requires a trip to the local liquor store for red wine.
The first would be most fun . . . . .

you.) :~)

In this order

1. Go to town and check out Surly Table
2. While in town, go to liquor store and pick up bottle of red wine.
3. Go home and drink bottle of red wine
4. Throw away Dirt Chunks, problem solved.
5. Make Bean Pickles...or not....you won't care one way or another after
consuming the wine anyway!

Your Welcome!

but if you went to the liquor store for the second, you could get
half-boiled yourself.

I like the way you think, Keith. I really do. Come over here and sit
by me.

It's 1:30 and I've done the two pints of bean pickles for the Fair.
I've some leftovers sitting in the brine that will be fridge-stored
without processing.

The boiled dirt chunks were boiled and peeled last night and I think I
over-cooked them, so I have a nasty feeling that I'm going to be making
them later in the week, when I get more fresh blech. I may pour some
sort of brine over what I cooked yesterday and give them to someone as a
gift. I can think of two people who offered to take last year's Fair
jars off my hands so I don't think getting rid of them will be a
problem. They may not be like Aunt June's (June Cleaver), but they'll
probably be better than what Aunt Nellie sells. I haven't tasted the
greens I cooked.

All of this seems to leave me with a plan to visit Surly Table. I don't
have any money to spend right now so it might well be a fortuitous time
to pay them a call. :-)

Gotta stay sober for tonight's pork chops, though. I'm thinking grilled
chops, parsleyed new potatoes, and green beans (not the pickled ones).

hahaha! If I had money my life might be more like yours!
I have to do paid work too often, and am feeling sorry
for myself because I had to clean the house top to bottom
over the last few days. So my choices went like this:

1. Should I call the nasty client first?
2. Should I finish that overdue report?
3. Should I put the laundry in first, or
clean off the side porch?
4. Do I have time to gas my car on the
way to the bank and still get the deposit
in before 2 if I clean the inside and outside
of the car first?
5. Can I do all this and still have dinner made
for the overgrown adolescent I am married to
by the time he gets home?

hahaha!

I over processed the pickled beets yesterday. We do not talk about
how that happened. I've got to see if I can find some more. Just
finished Bread and Butter pickles. Waiting the 5 minutes to take them
out of the BWB. Got them out and they all sealed.

Supper tonight are leftovers. Zucchini and green beans from my
garden. Potatoes from Mr. Nance at the farmers market. His garden is
about a mile from me. Pete grilled some chicken.

Guess I better get the dishwasher unloaded and reloaded.

Cathy uses words to the effect of "My choice is not listed" on every
poll. http://www.recfoodcooking.com/survey...tml?survey=129

What's interesting about this poll is a lot of responders are not
married and don't work. Hmmmm....

This is an endearment, I see. And I see only One Choice, anyway, the
others being merely imaginary. The Choice is your Destiny.

> The second requires a trip to the local liquor store for red wine.

I see that a bushel of the main ingredient is, as always, already there.

Make 'em pickled and don't forget to also prepare a lot of Barb's Beety
Beauty. You will need 'em both for the fair, in order to avoid your
usual disastrous results with only a few black ribbons.

Ack! I bought three baby ones at the market. Forgot. Thanks for the

LOL! Well, there's always plastic if I REALLY find something I can't
live without. (BTW, it's 5:00 p.m. and I haven't gone. Maybe tomorrow.

LOL.. that's pretty funny. True, but funny.
Smoking though is far worse for the skin. Smokers, esp women, look
wayyyyyyyy too old before their time. Drinkers next.

Having seen you up close and personal I can attest that You, Barb, look
marvelous as you are. Tab must have rejuvinating properties?
I think I may need to start drinking Tab. LOL

Heck, I'll make you lemonade (homemade, of course).

Go to the surly tabloid.

Bring some jars of your goods.

Say, "I can get these for you wholesale."

Tell us when we can expect to see them on the shelves
at our local.

LOL!!! I just took 10 jars of exceptionally wonderful apricot jam from
my canner. I can't wholesale -- I don't have a licensed kitchen. And
I'm not interested in all that work, either. My association with the
Gedney folks has shown me what a PITA commercial food prep can be. I'll
pass.

The RIBBON for your Bonté de Betteraves Baignees, as well as all the
other ribbons you want, are all yours for the taking, once you enter your
Barb's Beety Beauty.

Et voilà:
<http://www.shopfoodex.com/koolaid-jammers-juice-pouches-count-blue-raspberry-p-27123.html>

<http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0004LVZIQ/fatlenscom-20>

<http://www.foodservicedirect.com/index.cfm/S/3/CLID/55/N/82482/Kool_Aid_Beverages.htm>

Also, consider Flavor Aid, which is said to be similar:

Now go get 'em and then get to work, woman, if you do not want to be
barred from entering the fairgrounds for maliciously withholding the
beety panacea from the pining public!

Her cherry is to die for. Amazing stuff.
No matter what kind she sent you, you'll enjoy it very much.

<cough> I'm thinking that my next tatt will have to be a cherry.
Could I resist the temptation to offer to show my cherry? Probably not.
