I hope he has to reimburse the airline for his outburst as well as the other passengers. Michael And I hope we get to hear about it. I'd like to hear how embarrassed those parents get (should get!) instead of imagining them whining about how mistreated *they* were! I want to hear an apology for all air passengers who have to be exposed to such idiocy. As if flying weren't already unpleasant enough...? Unfortunately, people like that don't get embarrassed by their own behaviour; instead, they have an overweening sense of their own importance, and pass on those personality traits to their kids. |

It would never have dawned on me to expect something on a 50-minute commuter flight. Even short flights usually offer a beverage service and apple juice is usually a choice. I'm wondering why it was so difficult for the flight attendent to come up with a can of apple juice from the beverage cart. It's what I usually ask for and they've never had to go hunt some up. This certainly doesn't excuse the father's behavior, of course. The pilot did the right thing since someone who behaves like this, well there's just no telling what they might do. I have to wonder how many people missed other connections because dude pitched a fit over some apple juice. And yes, I always take some snack crackers with me in my carry-on bag. Now that they've relaxed the rules about liquids there was no reason the parents couldn't have packed some juice. Jill |

If it's similar to flights I've taken, the flight attendatns start at the front of the plane and work their way back towards the galley area. This jackass didn't want to wait for them to get to him and that just doesn't work in this particular scenario. This certainly doesn't excuse the father's behavior, of course. Now that they've relaxed the rules about liquids there was no reason the parents couldn't have packed some juice. If you're going to be heading out with children, it behooves you to carry extra diapers, drinks, Tylenol, and some type of dry goods (animal crackers, Ritz, even saltines) for said child to nosh on. This works well for many adults, too. Cutting line doesn't -- at any age... The Ranger |

where were the air marshalls??? Rosie I think Air Marshal's went the way of the dodo. Nobody wanted to pay for them. They are not on every flight. They do still exist. |

Perhaps it was just a matter of waiting patiently for their turn at service....which this father, and possibly child didn't seem to be able to do? And yes, I always take some snack crackers with me in my carry-on bag. Now that they've relaxed the rules about liquids there was no reason the parents couldn't have packed some juice. Jill They also could have purchased juice from any number of vendors past the security check, and carried that on. |

LOL You can spot them right away. They are usually seated at the front of the plane (not in first class) and look like the stereotype of FBI agents. All they're missing are the dark glasses. But what could they have done, anyway? Aside from (as Michael suggested) duct-taping the father to his seat? Jill |

I don't see the problem here. Didn't any of the flight crew have duct tape handy? They had Jack Daniels handy. Nothing like a sleeping toddler to keep a plane in the air. --Blair |
