I like buffets where I can consume members of three classes of
chordates at one sitting, Mammalia, Aves and Pisces.

Those arthropods are nice too. Also, molluscs (especially sea
scallops). My nephew is particularly fond of a particular echinoderm,
the sea urchin, which he likes to eat alive.

He sounds like a food snob.

Being in a higher income stratum than myself, he is able to enjoy many
more interesting sea creatures.

Brunch is wasted on me. I eat one plate (usually a salad) and I'm done. I
know, it's sad. :~)

I would argue that he's not actually enjoying the taste of them.
He's just enjoying the yuppiness.

I don't think so. He says they're his favorite thing to eat in the
whole world.
See, it is beyond me to understand how someone could enjoy the taste
of scotch or gin, but I have very dear friends and relatives who have
no reason to lie to me about it. Same with certain foods.

Even after trying them, practically everyone would rather have a
Whopper instead.

My nephew would rather eat a live sea urchin than a Whopper.

Someone should tell him that uni is not so much sea urchin
as sea urchin eggs and sperm.

Oh, if that's what he likes, I doubt he'd be the least bit squeamish.

Then I feel it's my duty to inform you that uni is sea urchin
gonads, not eggs and sperm.

I'd explain to you what "roe" means but I really shouldn't
have clicked a grayed-out link so it's moot.
