This is a must try. Picked it up from a friend. For a warm Welcome Back to me from all of RFC - I offer this little gem. I loved it. Afghanistani chicken 4 half chicken breasts with rib bones, skinned 2 tsp fresh ground black pepper 4 tsp. garlic, peeled and minced 2 tsp. ground ginger 4 Tbsp fresh lemon juice 1/2 cup onions, peeled and finely chopped 2 tsp dried turmeric 2 tsp coriander 4 Tbsp chicken broth 1 c. nonfat yogurt Mix everything in a big bowl for marinating. Score the meat 2 or 3 places diagonally. Marinate in the mixture overnight. Then bake it on a rack at 350F for 50 to 60 minutes. Where I had it, they put the rack in a pan and had some water at the bottom for the drippings and of course the moisture. This is good food. Here's a page of links I turned up: http://www.afghana.com/Directories/Recipes.htm Many, alas, don't work, but some do. Kabul Caravan in Arlington had a very tasty pumpkin dsih that would be appropriate for the season. I'll keep looking. :-) |

Some of the stuff I had here and there had been around for ever. We're used to the processed crap I'm afraid. Mr. Robo Cheese ( Email?: If you can't say it here, you keep it.) |
