I see the Nesco roasters are back in style again.I had on eons ago and
lost it in moving.Used to cook everything in that thing.Good to plug in on the patio on a hot day to keep the house cool.Going to get the another one as soon as I make up my mind what size I need.My grandmother had one and so did my mother. I also have an 'ancient'Sunbeam electric fry pan that is still going strong with lots of use,a Black Angus Rotisserie from the 50,s that belonged to my mother..plus assorted old pots and pans(Wearever) still going strong,at least 20 years old.,and a molineaux Jullienne machine (50s)still works...hate to part with then, theyve given me such good service and still work fine... Anyone have a kitchen item or appliance they would never part with? Just curios,Smitty |

Also, my old crockpot. It has much lower temperatures than the newer ones, and doesn't burn food that's set up in the morning to be dinner when i get home 10 hours later. maxine in ri |

I don't have one now, but when I did it made great pancakes. Heck, use it any time you need another large burner. -- See return address to reply by email |

I had a covered electric frying pan (not sure of the brand) when I was about 21 years old, a hand-me-down from Mom. It was heavy duty and worked very well but I have no idea what happened to it. I also use it for making pancakes when the stove is in use, and for frying blintzes. Once i learned (from folks here) that for good frying, you have to not add too much at one time so the oil doesn't drop in temperature, the temp light on the frypan helped me to obtain perfectly browned foods every time. Mom must have known this, but she never specifically told me so I thought I just had no luck frying. A hearty thank you to everyone who has repeated that information over the years. maxine in ri |

I've been making fried chicken for around 30 years now and have never used a deep fryer. A cast iron skillet is the must! Ms P |
