I've worked in customer service so I know what it's like. One thing I hated was I would be waiting on a customer and they would start making calls on their cell phone. That's just inconsiderate. We had a policy that if we saw a customer talking on a cell phone we would not wait on them until they put their phone away. If they complained all we had to say is we didn't want to disturb their obviously important conversation. Another thing I hated is getting calls from customers who would then ask if they could put ME on hold. Uh no, you called me. You should be ready with what you need to say before you even pick up the phone. |

You should be ready with what you need to say before you even pick up the phone. That reminds me of when I was a teenage. One of my best friends told me about the time her mother called her when she was at another person's house and asked her: "Where ARE you???" She replied: "MOM *you* called ME!" It takes all kinds, so I hope you kept your sense of humor. LOLOL! It *is* funny if you take a step back and look at it. Her mother was a control freak and your customers were self-absorbed. Thank goodness there was already a policy in place to deal with them at your job. Can you imagine being one of the customer service representatives who had to deal with that type *before* the policy and having to defend yourself to the boss about complaints that *you* wouldn't wait on hold? -- See return address to reply by email |

The only complaint I have about cellphones is that BOTH parties get charged for the air time. On a landline, only the caller gets charged. That's one good reason to keep one. :-) I do, finally, have a cell number now tho' and only a limited number of people get the number. Immediate family, close friends and my boss. It's a tracfone so all pre-paid. Tracfone does send ad's to it sometimes, but they are all text messages and they don't charge minutes for their own ads so it's no big deal. -- Peace, Om Remove _ to validate e-mails. More often than not, I can't read the amount on the stupid screen and I have to ask them what it is. -L. |

They don't tell you the total? That's part of their job as a cashier. If they can't even do that then they have no business doing that kind of work. No wonder self checkouts have become so popular. |

If they was hungry they'd have honey dripping from their mouths I saved a tree today, I kept a man from cutting it down, I said, "you always want to cut something down" (little fella runnin round the neighborhood with a chainsaw in his lawn mower wagon) he agreed to leave it, I invited him to my smoke-out. |
