Here's a start, although it's about public tidelands:

We always removed oysters in-the-shell frowm our
beach but returned the shells either the same day or
the next day.

Will you be on the east or west shore? Well, I guess
it could be on the north or south shore if you'll be down
in the buttonhook. Have fun!

I believe the original discussion had to do with picking
oysters in Oregon, not Washington. It's definitely more
illegal in Oregon -- all oysters are private property.

I was responding to Little Malice who wrote about her
upcoming weekend on Hood Canal, which is in western
Washington State.
