register on their website and not have to pay? Someone here posted that
they registered, paid nothing, then viewed recipes.

You can register on the ATK site for free, and there's a collection of
the show's recipes. The Cook's Illustrated site charges a fee to join,
with the fee dependent upon whether you're a subscriber to their
magazine or not.
