I'm wondering if this is serious, or if it's a joke:

I hope its a joke.

However, I am more worried about how you came across this website in the
first place. I *know* google is our friend, but...

It looks like a marketing student project page. There's no real product
information, like how to order it, where it's sold, and so forth. I've
seen a few of these over the years and they always look good, but stop
short of actually selling you anything.

Obviously very serious. Some of the blogs have picked up on it and I'm
betting someone will be selling stock soon. I sent the URL on to some
bird hunter friends of mine, one of them will let me know after he orders.

I believe it's for real. The weekend quiz show on NPR ["Wait, wait,
don't tell me"] has a feature where the contestant has to pick the real
story out of three, the other two being fake. The story about this
product was the winner a couple of weeks ago. -aem

Ok, that's a bit more obvious. ;-)

I'm thinking that season shot is somebody's screwy idea that is not
going to work...

I don't think even solid peppercorns would hold up to a powder charge
behind them, and the ballistics would suck.

They have posted contact info so they must want someone to contact them.
I don't hunt birds so don't need seasoned shot and don't reckon they
have buckshot for deer. VBG

Hm. Time will tell...

It's a really cool idea if it turns out to be feasable.

I'm betting it'd be very short range tho. Seasoning pellets would not
have enough mass or density to have any kind of decent ballistics.

Seasoning slugs perhaps? G

I actually did e-mail them just for grins.
I'll report back if I get a reply.

Well, the plastic wadding would protect the spices from the powder.
Ground spices would act as the buffer to protect whole ones like
peppercorns from the shock. I'd expect you'd get about a 10' effective
range, good for shooting chickens in the coop.
