OK, I'll admit it. I must be gender biased - or something. But a guy
knitting just seems so weird.

(shame on me!)

Rosie Greer used to knit if I'm not mistaken.
Wasn't knitting a traditional male skill hundreds of years ago? Fishing
nets surely are a type of crochet, right?

Rosie did needlepoint, if I remember right.

Yes, Rosie Greer did needlepoint. For many centuries, knitting was
traditionally done by men (think sailors). Surprisingly, needlework (of
many sorts) was a venue mainly occupied by men (e.g.. tailors),
especially not too long ago. Fishnets are made by particular "knots"
(think macrame).

Rosie (heh) Greer did needlepoint. Anyone notice the bagpipe music on the
UTube video? Men used to knit their own stuff while out on the battlefields
waiting to kill people. LOL

Needlepoint is supposedly a common hobby for
surgeons, and that is a predominantly male specialty.
The needlwork is good practice.

Roosevelt Greer did needlepoint.

Fishing nets are more like macrame, which is like crochet w/o a needle.
Lots'o'knots!
