Oh pshaw, on Thu 30 Nov 2006 10:24:36p, Damsel in dis Dress meant to say...
We still have some turkey thigh in barbecue sauce in the fridge for sandwiches. That'll be gone by sundown tomorrow. Tonight, I cubed up the rest of the turkey breast (4 cups of it) and made fried rice (starting with 2 cups of uncooked rice). Yessirree, that's meaty fried rice! Might take us a couple days to finish the rice off. There's a lot of it. This afternoon, I made my chocolate-orange fudge brownies. Odd pairing with turkey fried rice, but they filled in all the empy spaces that the rice missed. The drumsticks are in the freezer, awaiting a new home with my niece. Aside from that, we're done with the Jurassic Turkey. Oh, poop. I haven't taken pictures of any of this stuff. I'll do that tomorrow, in case anyone is tense with anticipation, wondering what a barbecue turkey sandwich looks like. Or a brownie. LOL! I'd love to see the brownies (and the recipe), but 1 slice of turkey was enough for me. I can't stand it. I must admit, though, that your Jurassic Turkey was mighty purty! -- Wayne Boatwright __________________________________________________ 'Have you met my pet?' - Dot |

I had to give up on taking a picture of the brownies. The top edge crumbled when I cut them. Should have cut them last night before the top started drying out (I don't frost my brownies). Besides, they're almost all gone already. But here's the recipe. * Exported from MasterCook * Chocolate-Orange Fudge Brownies Recipe By :Carol Peterson Serving Size : 24 Preparation Time :0:20 Categories : Cookies/Bars Signature Dishes Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 1/2 sticks unsalted butter -- softened (10 ounces) 2 1/2 cups sugar 4 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon orange extract 2 teaspoons orange zest -- if desired 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 2/3 cup cocoa 2 cups flour Heat oven to 350°F. Butter bottom only of 9x13-inch rectangular baking pan. Set aside. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Add baking powder, salt, cocoa, and flour; mix just until all ingredients are moistened and mixture is smooth - do not over-mix. Spread batter into prepared baking pan. Bake for about 40 minutes or until brownies just begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely. Cut into bars and serve. Source: "adapted from a recipe by Land O'Lakes" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : Makes 24-48 brownies. They're rich, so I cut them small. Thanks, Carol! The next time I make brownies, I'm making these. FWIW, if they're rich, I cut them big. :-) Never get too much of a good thing. :-)) -- Wayne Boatwright @¿@¬ _____________________ |
