Dang, there were so many options I wanted to choose! I love lobster. My
favorite way to cook it is to boil it to half-way done, remove from water,
split the tail shell, pull the shell back, add a slab of butter to the split
and then broil it until it's VERY lightly browned.

Of course, that's when and if I can ever afford lobster, which is just about
never. And, I can no longer eat it, so I'm out on both counts. Oh well. I
have the glorious memories!!!!!

It's all about the atmosphere. Not too long ago, just after college when
I was working temp in Boston, on our days off me and my best girlfriend
would go up to the beach. We'd hang out on the sand a bit, then go find
one of the lobster joints where they'd steam you a chick right out of
the back of the boat, and we'd go off and sit on the pier or in the
rocks and eat them steaming hot with our hands. Those were the days.
Needless to say, we don't get much fresh lobstah here in Kansas.

45 or so years ago my sister lived in Kansas...
My Dad and I flew for a visit with a carry-on box of live lobsters...
They escaped on the plane...
Coulda/shoulda been a horror film, but it had the whole plane laughing...

I don't prepare lobster. I only eat it if it's prepared
for me in a restaurant or something. I can't bear to put
the live lobster in the pot of boiling water or whatever.
Anyway, I would like it by almost any method of preparation
as long as it's cooked. No, raw or rare lobster please.

Kate

I love it too, but haven't ordered it in restaurants in over 20 years
(I don't order anything with "market price" as the $$). In fact, I
haven't bought it in ages to eat at home either because I like the
tails (hate whole lobsters) and they are just too darned expensive
these days. Sure I wouldn't be going into the poor house if I forked
over the cash, but I have standards too (no $150 steaks for me).
Since I don't buy lobster or even eat it in restaurants anymore
because the price is sky high - I choose: I can't affrord it.
