Default OT: We made it to North Carolina!

Howdy do!

We made it. We had the normal car problems (bad fuel in Jacksonville ruined
our fuel pump... had to be towed and wait for the shop to open (such a
lovely surprise at 1:15 a.m.).

We are pleased to be amongst the internet again although I don't have much
time to play on it. There are few things like buying a house that becomes a
storage unit and trying desperately to turn it into a house again. Uggh.

Hmmm, looks like my 10 minute break is over.

Hugs!

Welcome to North Carolina.

As to a house that becomes a storage unit, we are still trying to get
everything sorted out and we've been here 2 years.

Pity the poor explorers of yesteryear who reached exciting new places, and
didn't have an internet to occupy themselves when they arrived. Oh my.

Glad to hear you are safe and in the door!

Are you cooking yet, or still surviving on ready meals and take aways?

Well Done dear! You are SO lucky
I understand NC to be the most delightful place. I hope to visit there
within the year, fingers crossed anyway- I have someone very special to me
living there. Wouldn't it be funny if you were neighbours!

Congrats Cyndi! I wish you great luck and wonderful times
in your new home.

We're on sort of an adventure as well. Just bought 27 acres
in upstate NY last weekend. Totally wooded, which is what we
wanted. Immediate use will be for vacation/hunting and the
possibly a retirement place in a few years. Gotta sell the
Vette now though 'cause I need a frontend-loader/backhoe
now. ;-D

Hi Kate,

We're cooking (and grilling). We had steaks tonight with grilled corn and a
platter of onions with various types of fungus. YUMMMM!!

We are the proud new members of the BJs Warehouse club (woo-wheeee we found
a couple of good deals). We purchased a frozen Torta Rustica that was
actually very, very good! Okay - so it's not "real" cooking but we did get
to try it out in our new range (May I boast for a quick moment? It has a
warming drawer!!! Wheeeeee - I've never had one. I'm sooooooo excited!!).
It was a floor model and the last one that the store had - otherwise we
couldn't have afforded it.

Thank you and DITTO!! Upstate NY is GORGEOUS! I'd love to be able to do
the same. Actually, I'm in a greedy mood at the moment - I'd like to do it
in both NY AND NC. LOL We still have to go back to FL to p/u the popup
camper... I'd love to have some acreage around here to use it.

Thank you dear! It is a very pretty area... and I'd count myself lucky to
be a neighbor of yours. I found my sugar already so it's available for
borrowing. G

..Thank you Jan!

Yep, we've been pretty lucky and things could have been way worse. LOL

Hmmm... House Warming... I dunno. Maybe I could do a small open house
thingy the end of October or the first part of November. That might be a
lot of fun. Thanks for the idea!
