Default RECIPE: Grilled Shrimp

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (fresh or thawed, frozen)
1 tablespoon minced garilc (fresh or from the jar)
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
thin wooden or bamboo skewers

While you are peeling the shrimp, put 6 to 8 skewers into a cold water
to soak.

Mix the oil and garlic in a bowl big enough to hold all of the shrimp.
Rinse the shrimp and dry with paper towels. place them in the bowl with
the garlic mixture. Stir to coat. Let the shrimp marinate for 10 minutes.

Thread the shrimp through the skewers in two places. Place the skewers
on a pre-heated grill and grill about two minutes on each side until the
flesh just becomes opaque.

You will not believe how fresh and sweet the shrimp taste when cooked
this way. We live near by the Texas Gulf coast and get fresh shrimp
right from the boats or from the farm in Arroyo City, but this recipe
works well with frozen and thawed shrimp, too.
