Huffed and Puffed the following into the madness of usenet: Hi All I'm spending far too much time sitting in front of a computer, and starting to repeat myself boringly endlessly as well - so it's time for a break. I've decided to unsubscribe on Monday morning (tomorrow) and see you all again in a month or two when we have a new crop of newbies to cajole and persuade and inform. I'll hang around on the quieter a.s.d.uk a little longer just to keep in touch. So, in case it's longer than that, thanks to each and every one of you. Too many to name. I honestly believe that you wonderful people on m.h.d and a.s.d have saved my life - even the ones I argued with caused me to think, learn and research more. You should all be proud of yourselves for keeping these groups going. We may argue, and get bitchy, go OT and be trolled and spammed - but in amongst all that is diabetes advice at the cutting edge if you take the time to look for it. And some great, caring, people. Be proud of yourselves. 'bye all Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia. It was the roopoo website, wasn't it, the straw that broke the aussi camel's back? It's not an official break unless you go offline completely for the whole month. Walk away from the computer and go on wlak about. You can do it. No, leave the lap top and palm pilot, no PSPs, no mobile email devices, just you, the winnebago and the open road..... -- Māck©® Type 1 since 1975 http://www.alt-support-diabetes.org http://www.diabetic-talk.org http://www.insulin-pumpers.org "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." ....Theodore Roosevelt (o o) --ooO-(_)-Ooo-------------------- "I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve." Don't stay away too long!
Although I don't post often, I read regularly and your posts are ones I always read. I know how much you helped me when I first found ASD after being diagnosed and still did after I was undiagnosed (is that a word?). Anyway, enjoy life and be well. Regards and best wishes. Ross, the on again, off again T2. Mental Health breaks are a good and necessary thing. I posted the note below on alt.support.diabetes as it just "appeared out of
the blue" there. Then I noticed that when I send a message from this newsgroup it goes to that newsgroup and one other. Is there any way I can make it show up just here, apart from physically deleting the other 2 addresses in the "to" box? Judanne I don't know how this ended up here, it was meant to be on alt.food.diabetic!!! |

Judanne I don't know how this ended up here, it was meant to be on alt.food.diabetic!!! Hi Judanne Usually by "physically deleting the other 2 addresses in the "to" box" It depends on your newsreader. For example, in Agent I can set the options to alert me when posts are cross-posted when I reply. Howevwer, I always look in the "To" or "Newsgroups" field because there are many posters who deliberately cross-post and your reply will go to all those groups if you don't adjust it. Cross-posting is not always bad - in fact I think the one in question was my own:-) However, it is a tactic often used by trolls for maximum annoyance of the maximum number. Always watch your headers and delete unwanted groups from your To: line, it's the only way to avoid accidental crossposting. -- No Husband Has Ever Been Shot While Doing The Dishes |
