You are claiming that some folks advocate eliminating carbs, but you are
incorrect, aside from Bob the drunk. NO-ONE is advocating eliminating
carbs. Many are advocating reducing carbs.

There are no essential carbohydrates. There are, however, foods that
contain carbs which also contain essential nutrients. I think you're
missing the point that some of us are selecting our words carefully to
precisely reflect what we mean. I think you're using terms more broadly.

You're using "carb" to refer to foods that contain carbs. That's a
broader use of "carb" than Susan and I, for instance, have been using.

Well, yeah. No-one's arguing against that. What we're arguing against
is the idea that the *carbs* are essential. They're not. There are no
essential carbohydrates.
