At an estate sale this weekend I found an old knife blade in a box of junk
in the garage. No handle, but has what I believe is called a rat-tail tang. It is completely covered in rust, but I noticed some stamped letters, so I cleaned off that area. It has the bunch of grapes logo, and the words, SABATIER Acier Fondu Garanti (actually looks like Acier fondl). According to the Sabatier website, this logo is an older trademark, but I can't seem to find any other specific information about this particular period of knife. I would like to make a handle for the knife and use it, and I was wondering if anyone had a link to pictures of an intact handle so I could copy it. Any other information about this knife would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
