Default Uses for the Visions double boiler insert?

Hi!

I have never used a double boiler before. I won't be melting chocolate
with it. It's best to use to keep oatmeal and already hot stews warm, I
guess, but it might be good for paella as well. (I don't have any
non-Visions cookware.)

Any suggestions from other Visions owners is appreciated. Thanks.

Uses to which I have put a double boiler:

Melting chocolate
making egg custard
making arrowroot sauces
melting wax for Batik
making & keeping scrambled eggs warm
keeping vegetables warm
cooking cheese sauces
dying eggs for easter!
Tie-dying

I have the same "extra" that you have probably. I use it in my microwave
all the time. Good for heating up just about anything that will fit into
it - rice, etc.

If you ever use the "heat-in-a-cup kim chee noodles," you can heat your
water in the microwave in it, then add the dried noodles to it, put your
vision lid on top of it to stew for 3 minutes. You can eat out of it
without eating out of the plastic dried-noodle bowl. Stays
hot-temperature, too.
