Default Halogen Heating Plate/Burner 1500 watts

Re

Would appreciate any opinions as to whether this would be a good way to see
if one might like halogen heat burners on a full stove? or is it just a
hoakie idea? Would it be as powerful a burner as might be on a stove, so as
to get a full workout?

It is 9-1/2" diameter and 6 settings from 185 to 806ºF.

It says, that it "responds instantly to temperature change, the higher
temperature, the brighter the light." I don't quite understand this if they
are speaking of the burner, because if you had your pot on the unit, you
would not be lifting it up to see the glass.

I use a electric plate burner outside now for steamy cooking, so it wouldn't
go to waste if I ever buy a full stove with these kinds of burners.
Thanks so much.
Dee
