Default New Viking Mixer

Been reading up on the ads for the new Viking mixer. Looks like the low
end KA with tilt back head. In this case, motor is in base, not top. It
is a 7qt capacity, with a 1,000 watt motor. Selling price is $499.

Looks as if it has been inspired by the Kenwood.

I also found out that the Viking Distribution company also sells the
Electrolux, too.

Default New Viking Mixer

Actually -- it's very much like the Kenwood/DeLonghi. Seems very well
built and in my admittedly very limited tests (pizza dough, batter,
liquid) it performed beautifully.

I've played with one. It's got basically the same features - 3
attachment points, similar attachments and accessories. The mixer
itself is substantial with a cast base. There are 5 and 7 quart models
available. Stainless steel bowls include a welded on handle. Power
control is continuosly variable, though with soft detents every 2
increments.

The best thing about them, compared to DeLonghi is their service and
support. An 800# is provided and Viking appears to be committed to
extremely high-quality service and support. Time will tell. They've
done a good job with their blenders, so far.

Also, your Viking distributor may also carry Electrolux, but Viking is
independent and located in Mississippi. I don't think there's any
other relationship.
