Default Kirkland/Costco Cookware

If you've got a Sam's club nearby, check out their stainless set. It's 100%
tri-ply and costs only $179 for 12 or 13 pieces. I bought it as a gift for
someone, but personally own the old Kirkland tri-ply. If I had to choose
the new Kirkland disk-bottomed set vs. the Sam's Club set, I'd choose the
latter in an instant. The Kirkland set is pretty, though.

Had anyone had experience with Kirkland brand cookware from costco? I

saw
a
set of pots and pans there yesterday and they loook pretty good, but

before
I plunk down 200 bucks, I thought I'd check around. They're 18/10
stainless, aluminum, and copper, all sandwiched together (all clad

style,
but I'm pretty sure the copper and aluminum are just in the base).

Anyway,
thoughts, experiences? TIA

I have a couple of the old style Kirkland non-stick skillets. They are

the
tri-ply design, not the puck type. They have been great. The only

cookware
that I have seen recently at Costco has been the disk type, not the

tri-ply
design like All-Clad. That said, I think they would be fine. I have a

set
of Wolfgang Puck cookware with the disks and I have no complaints. My

only
issue with the new Kirkland cookware is that it isn't a great bargain for
$200 - not exorbitant, but nothing to write home about. When the original
tri-ply cookware was selling for $149 it was a steal. When it went up to
$199, it was still OK. But, the disk type cookware for $199 doesn't
interest me. You can get disk bottomed cookware at discount stores (TJ

Max,
Marshall's, Homegoods, Tuesday Morning, K-mart, ...) or online from

HSN.com
for well under $199 for 10 pieces.

If this is the cookware you are talking about, then please note that they
say that the BOTTOM is bonded, not the entire piece:
