Martha Stewart's Everyday Food set has my kind of sink in the
background. It's a commercial sink with high sides and a soap and scrubbee shelf on the back wall of the sink so that it drips in. I want a stand alone sink because I want to wheel a metro shelving unit over the sink where the first shelve is above the sink and dishes can drain over the sink. Is there a problem with the steel used in commercial sink. We used to have one and it wasn't as pretty and maybe louder than our home sink, but otherwise there was no problem with it. I don't remember it rusting at all. TIA for your feedback. |

Thanks, I thought of that because I remember the commercial kitchen was
like drum. I wonder if the commercial ones rust or wear thin faster. |

I would think, as a rule, just the opposite. However, there is a wide range of quality in residential sinks. You can buy very cheap ones all the way up to very expensive. I would think that even lower-end commercial sinks would be quite durable. You should talk to a commercial equipment dealer and have them compare the different types of sinks they make. Of course, a fabricator could make a sink to your specification. |
