"sqwire" wrote in message ... I just got a new Amana side by side refrigerator. Having problems with the ice dispensor. Sprays shavings to small chunks on the floor when dispensing. Hold the glass low floor gets coated, glass high, cubes bind up. Just how high and how full are you making the glass? Can't speak for Amana, but in mine, if you hold the glass too low, you do get some flying around, If you hold it high, it does not bind up at all as long as you don't overfill the glass. Unless you are using a smaller than normal glass, continue to complain. Ice all over the floor should not be considered normal by any brand. The glass diameter should be equal or larger than the chute. If it is smaller, you have the problem. If it is larger, they have the problem. Ed |

Only problem with our Amana side by side is if the glass is too low that
stuff goes all over the floor - usually an operator problem, with our daughter not concentrating! Don't have a problem with cubes clogging together. "sqwire" wrote in message om... I just got a new Amana side by side refrigerator. Having problems with the ice dispensor. Sprays shavings to small chunks on the floor when dispensing. Hold the glass low floor gets coated, glass high, cubes bind up. Maytag repair men comes out, sees problem, calls Amana, they say "thats normal". Second opinion repair man coming tommorrow. Anybody else with this problem? Any advice? Thanks Gail |

Keep after Amana!
If your fridge is under warranty, keep bugging them until it's fixed. I've had unending problems with two Amana fridges and I'll never buy another one. The service people did a lousy job of diagnosing the problems...kept me waiting for two weeks before I found the problem...an unhooked electrical connector. It cost me $120 for Amana's incompetence! I've had compressor failures, icemaker failures, water dispenser failures, the freezer liner failed, had solenoid valves replaced twice and four different servicemen COULD NOT install a water filter (none of them could remove the factory-supplied bypass.) As far as I'm concerned, Amana refrigerators are TRASH! DaveinFLL ========================== It's not the heat, it's the humidity! ========================== (..Think the humidity's bad? You should watch us vote!) |
