oups.com... Does anyone know where I can get the "king" of beers, Westvleteren 12. Well, there's this little monestary over in Belgium, and if you go up to the right window on the right day ... I have looked all over Pittsburgh, but they run out so damn fast! Westvleteren is notoriously difficult to find. It's not even all that easy in Belgium (but a hell of a lot easier than in the States, of course). The monks only release the beer a couple days a week, and technically speaking people aren't supposed to resell it. Best bet, if it is found in your local area periodically, is to make friends with your shop's beer buyer and ask him to give you a shout when it comes in. Otherwise, you'll probably need to start exploring mail-order solutions. www.belgianshop.com is a Belgian-based business that'll ship. But you have to order a good amount, and shipping is not cheap. Some of the other larger American specialty shops might also have it in stock from time to time. -Steve |
