Chicago Bears 1947 Television Schedule Poster
Bears running back Mike Holovak poses Heisman-style on this vibrant original poster. The Sid Luckman-led squad finished the 1947 season with an 8-4 record, and their six home games (four wins, two losses) are listed here beneath the banner of advertiser Canadian Ale. Linen-backed for preservation, the 17" x 22" poster approaches apparent EX condition overall. Just above Holovak's right arm are a partial removal of an ink notation and a few small "fills" to repair paper loss. There are also several color touches along the poster's folds and light soiling at lower left. Technical scrutiny aside, however, the colors are brilliant, Holovak's image is unscathed, and the eye-catching piece would display nicely with professional framing. http://mastronet.com/index.cfm?actio...9&CurrentRow=1 Chicago Bears 1939 Three-Sheet Schedule Poster What more could a Bears fan ask for? This seldom-seen 1939 schedule poster is not only big, bright, and beautiful, but its preservation is exceptional and the design features photographic head shots of the team's star players! Osmanski, Luckman, Patterson, Bausch, Musso, and Masterson represent George Halas's "Team of Stars," which finished the season with an 8-3 record. Their home schedule is listed along the bottom, just above copyright information of the Chicago-area publisher, Winterburn Print, Inc. The three-sheet, linen-backed poster measures a huge 41-1/2" x 82". It was obviously folded up and carefully stored soon after its first usage, as its delicate paper surface has been dutifully protected from the elements of excessive heat, light or moisture. Condition is apparent Near Mint with a fresh overall presentation and a small number of color touch-ups originating from the linen backing process. This stunning poster truly needs to be seen first-hand for full appreciation of its visual grandeur. http://mastronet.com/index.cfm?actio...4&CurrentRow=1 |
