Who brews this? A local brewery (Western Pa.) is advertising a case of 24 cans
of American or American Light Beer for $7.99.
At least half the price of all others.
Has anyone tasted this? Probably a good picnic beer, would taste as good as the
premiums once a can sat out in the sun for a few minutes and "skunked!"

Kmart sells American Soda and American Batteries among other items. Maybe
they're test-marketing cheap beer?

Is that Pittsburgh Brewing? I think they make a house-brand beer called
American.

Never had it though, sorry.

"American" has been a brand of Pittsburgh since the heyday of beer can
collecting (when they were selling what seemed like dozens of brands-
similar to General's marketing on the West Coast, at the same time).
They list it as a "popular price" brand (i.e, real cheap).

it must be REALLY sunny at your picnic for that little hole in the top
of the can to allow in enough light to skunk the beer in a few minutes g!

Not me, I pour it into one of those red 16 oz. plastic cups that you get at
Sam's or Costcos or wherever . But I might be changing. I used to think it was
a stupid to drink different beers from different style glasses, but I've
changed.

I now definitely prefer drinking premium, imported or high priced domestics
from clear 16oz. clear plastic cups, and local beers from the red cups.

term for just any outdoor party- picnic to me brings to mind a park and

Wait, I did get an 8 pack 16 oz. cans of Bitburger a few weeks ago. It
was hot, I felt like a European pilsner and everything in bottles at
that particular store looked pretty sad. It was cheap- $6.99 I think,

Hmmm...I think it's traditionally green translucent plastic cups for
imports, brown plastic for micros, yellow plastic for domestics (give it
SOME color) and that red should be reserved for malt liquors. But, it

Westvleteren 12. They would have used the "Westvleteren 12" label
