Hi, my name is Igor and I live in Croatia, Europe. My hoby is collecting
different tipes of beer that I can find in my city, but I want to go a
little bit further.
If somebody want to send me some beer that I don't have, I would gladly send

Lots of people trade beer, even internationally. If packed properly, in
the kind of styrofoam mailers used by places like Liquid Solutions or
the various beer of the month clobs, that have individual chambers for
each bottle, the risk of breakage is minimal. If you've never traded for
beer from far-off places, you're really missing out, though the shipping
does get to be a bit costly.

Does anybody have any experience trading internationally from Canada? I was
under the impression that our customs laws specifically and without
exception prohibited the importing of alcoholic beverages.

Otherwise I'd love to get into this myself, whenever funds are favourable

Cheers, John

Go to ratebeer.com to the trading section for tips on shipping beer to
Canada and vice versa.

My understanding is that its illegal even within the US, even though
plenty people still do it. I "know someone" who has sent beer to Canada a
couple of times. One time it was even opened by the customs inspectors,
discovered to contain beer, repacked very poorly, and shipped on to its
intended recipient luckily without breakage.

It's not illegal to ship beer within the U.S. It is illegal to do so via the
U.S. Postal Service. Shipping companies like UPS and FedEx can do so at
their discretion.

Some individual states may bar shipment of alcoholic beverages, but there
are no federal regulations I'm aware of prohibiting the practice, as long as
you stay clear of the USPS.
