An article in this mornings Pittsburgh Post-Gazette stated that a former
brewer from Pittsburgh Brewing will open an eatery, beer bar, and possibly a
brewpub. See link below:

I've been in a beer seminar the owner of the pub and didn't find him all
that interesting. He was very knowledgable about Iron City beer but had
almost no knowledge from a business stand point. When the audience kept
questioning him about past Iron City products such as Bock or Dark, he
repeately stated that light beer was the wave of the future and that is
where they were going to focus all their energy. I hope his beer
selection doesn't reflect this. Then again, maybe he was just doing what
he was supposed to do, drum up business for Iron City. If you ask me, if
you want light beer, just add a half a can of water to whatever you are
drinking and TADA! instant crap.

I'd be interested to hear about this place from someone who has visited.

Sounds like an "upscale" D's SixPax and Dogs. It's a bit out of my
normal travel area though.

It will be interesting to see if he can make it work at that location since
it is deep in suburbia and it's in a new strip mall. If he brews his own
(and he's not trying to clone Iron City) it might be worth a trip, but
nothing else about his place seems to stand out. On the other hand, if there
is a market for a 12 tap/250 bottle non-chain bar out there, other suburbs
may follow as well.

Eh, we'll see. I'll stop by some night and check it out. I have serious
concerns about an owner that says their favorite beer is Iron City lager
though... On the other hand, I don't care what he personally drinks if his
tap and bottle selection is good.
