My favorite beers are currently LaTrappe Tripel, Franziskaner Hefe Weissbier and Guinness Stout. All very different beers, and all favorites for different reasons and different moods. I'm wondering if there are any other beers out there that are similar to LaTrappe Tripel? I love the flavor, but sometimes the alcohol content can be a little too high. Can anyone recommend a beer with a similar flavor, but maybe a little less alcohol content? I've tried the LaTrappe Dubbel several times, but I don't like the flavor as much as the Tripel. Thanks in advance. |

Can anyone recommend a beer with a similar flavor, but maybe a little less alcohol content? There are lots of Belgian and Belgian-style Triples out there. It's a hallmark of the style to have somewhat of an elevated alcohol content. You want a bit less, you could try Leffe Blonde, but I'm generally loath to recommend Interbrew products when there's so many good beers available from independent producers. How about some Don de Dieu from Unibroue, or Chimay White/Triple, or even New Belgium's Triple? -- Nobody You Know |
