Jezus Christ !!
What a beer this is.
Sipping at this moment and really couldn't resist to out my enjoyment !!!
This is Belgian Style like it should be.........................
http://www.heavyweight-brewing.com/beers.html
Quote: "Lunacy is brewed exclusively with Belgian Pilsner malt, Styrian and
English Goldings hops and freshly ground coriander. It begins its life with
a long patient boil and is cast into the fermenter at 17.5 P. It then
undergoes a vigorous fermentation and extended cold conditioning. After
bottling, the beer receives an additional 2 week warm rest before it is
released. This yields a surprisingly refreshing brew with spicy notes, sweet
malt and subtle fruit. 7.7% ABV"
Cheers and a merry X-mas to all !!

Yes, that's the bottle.
I knew it was stronger than mentioned. (Well....you know afterwards in the
head :-))
Great beer Bill. Thanks.
A bit of lack of carbonation/foam but in it's whole a truely perfect brew.
Very coriander spicy too and it aged gracefully !
Cheers,

Actually, I didn't like it -- I loved it!! I understand you may have a
recipe suitable for a small (5 to 15 gallon) batch. If so, can you share
it??

Not so, but...I might be able to pry one out of Tom Baker. See what I can do
for you.

Actually, what would be really neat would be to get Tom in touch with Mike
McCullough at Hi Times in Costa Mesa -- Mike has managed to get bottled
Victory and Dogfish Head beers to SoCal. Why not get Heavyweight into the
equation?

Dogfish Head also is available through a mail order site called
liquidsolutions.biz -- another possible outlet for Tom.

Not gonna happen. Tom can just barely handle the sales he has in a 250 mile
radius. I'm sure he doesn't want to tackle California. Just too much for one
guy. Maybe a cooperative venture...

That's a thought. I'll pass it on.

If anyone finds the recipe for a five gallon of this and/or the Dogfish Head
I'd appreciate it

You bet!
First, go to this website for directions: www.beeryard.com
Then e-mail them from the website, and tell them you'd like to get a sixtel
of Lunacy.
Drive there, pay Matt, get the sixtel, go home, and drink it while you're
thinking about what your new hobby will be!
