Default beer and food in San Antonio?

I am going to San Antonio this week and would like recommendations for
any beer and food destinations - pubs, restaurants etc. Thanks in
advance!

Blue Star Brewing Co. is pretty good. I really liked their stout and
cask conditioned pale ale:

There is a Flying Saucer franchise in town as well (but it's a pricy cab
ride from downtown)

Along the riverwalk there is an Irish pub, an English pub, and a Dick's
Last Resort that have selections beyond the usual American mega-brews.
If you want Mexican food, you're better off going to the Mercado or
elsewhere off the Riverwalk.
