The Concorde Brewery / Rapscallion Facility to Close http://beeradvocate.com/forum/read.php?thread=160819 Todd, here and on the site...are you being deliberately obscure? Is Concord closing for good and all, is it just ceasing operations at this facility, or do they (and therefore you) not really know at this point? No accusations or any of that jive, just want to know what's up. Thanks! -- Lew Bryson www.LewBryson.com Author of "New York Breweries" and "Pennsylvania Breweries," 2nd ed., both available at www.amazon.com The Hotmail address on this post is for newsgroups only: I don't check it, or respond to it. The post, in subject and body, clearly states that the * facility * is
closing. Not sure how this is obscure? Here's the post: -- The Concorde Brewery facility in Shirley, MA will be closing very soon. Details of the closure cannot be made public at this time due to a dispute with their landlord that is currently in litigation. Labbe stated, "This does not necessarily mean the end of the Concord or Rapscallion brands. We are exploring other production avenues now, including the possibility of moving the production and distribution to another brewery. The response that we continue to get for our beers is amazing, and I believe that there is still the potential for much growth." -- Todd Alström, Founder http://BeerAdvocate.com -- BeerAdvocate.com Extreme Beer Fest 01.17.04 - The Cyclorama @ The Boston Center for the Arts http://beeradvocate.com/events/extreme_2004.php -- "Lew Bryson" wrote in message m... The post, in subject and body, clearly states that the * facility * is closing. Not sure how this is obscure? No need to get defensive, Todd. Remember, please, that I've never been one to dump on you or your site here. I read both posts, this one and the one about the "last tour" of the Shirley facility. But the words "not necessarily" leads to some doubt. All I was asking was whether you knew anything more than what was in the post. Weyerbacher, for instance, lost their lease on their facility, but there was never any doubt that they would move production to a different site. There appears to be some doubt here. I just wondered if you had a better feel for the chances of that. Okay? -- Lew Bryson www.LewBryson.com Author of "New York Breweries" and "Pennsylvania Breweries," 2nd ed., both available at www.amazon.com The Hotmail address on this post is for newsgroups only: I don't check it, or respond to it. No need to get defensive, Todd.
Thanks for the reminder. I don't believe that I was being defensive ... I was simply answering your question. The post also says: http://beeradvocate.com/forum/read.php?thread=160819 "Labbe also mentioned that they are not about to disappear. They have plenty of beer in their cellar, which they are currently bottling and kegging, and they expect no interruption in production. It's just a matter of transitioning to a new brewery." -- Todd Alström, Founder http://BeerAdvocate.com -- BeerAdvocate.com Extreme Beer Fest 01.17.04 - The Cyclorama @ The Boston Center for the Arts http://beeradvocate.com/events/extreme_2004.php -- |

Character-based systems aren't always the best for this kind of thing. Thanks for the clarification. -- Lew Bryson www.LewBryson.com Author of "New York Breweries" and "Pennsylvania Breweries," 2nd ed., both available at www.amazon.com The Hotmail address on this post is for newsgroups only: I don't check it, or respond to it.
