Default Crazy Ed's Chili Beer

Hello All:

Call me disgusting if you have to, but I think Crazy Ed's Chili Beer is
GREAT--especially with Mexican Food. Unfortunately, where I live (Oregon),
it is no longer available, as no distributor carries it.

There used to be a small craft brewer in Portland that occasionally brewed a
similar product called, "Jalapa" (from "Jalapeno"), but that is impossible
to find also.

Does anyone know of another brewing firm that brews a Jalapeno or Chili
Beer? I'd like to get my hands on some for a Mexican Food party I'm throwing
for a friend's birthday.

Please help if you can!

Why don't you just learn to brew your own beer? Then you can make your
own chili-flavored beer and won't be dependent on whatever is on store
shelves.

Nitpick: chili is the red meat sauce so beloved in Texas (and other
parts), chile is a pepper such as a jalapeno.

Crazy Ed's is out of business.

Rogue makes Chipotle Ale, a nicely balanced reddish ale with signature
Rogue malt and hop flavors. The chipotle is fairly subtle and really
works well - lends a nice smokiness.

Also, many brewpubs make a chile beer from time to time - check
around. They almost always have growlers or kegs to go.

I bet you can still find it here and there though. :-)

Or I'm thinking of Cave Creek maybe; is it the same thing? If
not, there's another possibility.

I was going to recommend this one myself... It's not HOT like
Cave Creek, but rather smoky, ish, like Randal says. It's nice.

I'd swear there was another one on the shelves at one time, but
I think it's long gone. I can't even recall who made it.
