Dudes, since everyone goes off on top posters around here I was
wondering if any of you Thunderbird experts may know how to configure the email reply and forward to park the courser on the top when dealing with email. 95% of the US at least top post their replies in email. T-bird is a great newsreader for bottom posting but email would be more convenient going to the top automatically. And yes I know that Microsoft was the evil behind all this... Thanks in advance |

Thanks in advance You might look under Tools/Account Settings/Composition and Addressing/Automatically quote the original message when replying/ and chose "start my reply above the quote". At least this works in Thunderbird 1.5.0.4. the latest one out. Bill who doesn't top post in email. -- Gmail and Google Groups. This century's answer to AOL and WebTV. |

I looked all over for that but as a hyper-focused Microsoft tech I got stuck in Tools Options... didn't even think of looking in account settings... You rock! In regards to coming up with the nugget just personal experience from 10 years of fortune 500 desktop support and now owning my own biz... probably more like 98% of my customers are top posters. Outlook, OE, Yahoo, Gmail etc. It is a Microsoft world out there. If you ever get whacked with other Windows problems email me off-line and will be glad to help and give you my toll free number. I use remote control software to move your mouse and keyboard while we work on the phone. Some of my International customers are bottom posters but they are more anti-Microsoft and big fans of Eudora, Agent etc. Brad |

In my book, top-posting is just a synonym for "into the killfile", email or post. I figure it people can't follow accepted norms then the hell with 'em. I guess I just don't play nice with idiots... ;-) -- Steve |
