Wow, we would probably pay more than that for choice here in Jersey. I was surprised to see Prime fillets at HEB here for only $16(.99) a few weeks ago. The other store in town charges $23. "Hal Burton" got some there too, recently. What did you pay, Hal? I think I paid $16.99 for them. I just bought USDA choice filet mignon some from Costco today for a mere $11.99/lb. They turned out very well also, but not quite as tasty as the Prime from HEB. |

I've been buying half of a whole tenderloin at costco for $2 less, or $9.89 or so/lb. I "butcher" it into filets at home, trimming all the outside connective tissue and fat to the sizes we want. We freeze what we don't use in the first several days. Tenderloin, wrapped tightly with saran, freezes very well. Kent |
